The western-themed adventure-action video game "Red Dead Redemption 2" is in development. Announced to be available for Xbox One, PC and PS4, release date, story and updates have been revealed online finally.
Following the 2010 "Red Dead" video game published and developed by Rockstar Games, a sequel is finally underway. According to developer RockStar Games, fans will experience an extra ordinary America upon the "Red Dead Redemption 2" release date.
Red Dead Redemption" described as "America, early 1900s.- The era of the cowboy is coming to an end. When federal agents threaten his family, former outlaw John Marston is sent across the American frontier to help bring the rule of law. Experience intense gun battles, dramatic train robberies, bounty hunting and duels during a time of violent change. 'Red Dead Redemption' is an epic battle for survival in a beautiful open world as John Marston struggles to bury his blood-stained past, one man at a time."
"Red Dead Redemption" received critical acclaim and commercial success among gamers worldwide, receiving an average of 95 of 100 according to Metacritic. In the same year of its release, "Red Dead Redemption" sold almost 13 million units worldwide. Game Informer commends the gameplay, saying "from pitch-perfect gunshots to the daunting rumble of prairie thunderstorms, the remarkable attention to audio detail brings the world to life."
With the success of the first video game, Strauss Zelnick CEO of Take-Two distributor shares in a 2014 conference of the probability of "Red Dead Redemption 2" saying, "it seems quite obvious that Red Dead is a permanent franchise, again with the same caveat, or Borderlands, for example, and NBA and others."
Zelnick also stresses that Take-Two is taking time with the development, saying that "The risk of just [releasing more games] is that you end up just bulking up your release schedule and that isn't really what consumers want. Consumers want better, not more. So our selective approach, which we've taken since '07 I think has paid off. Now, we have gotten more by taking that approach; we've launched one new successful franchise every year and I would like to keep doing that particularly because I talk about permanent franchises."
To date however, there hasn't been an updated official announcement on "Red Dead Redemption 2" release date and story, but definitely there will be a sequel.
