Former owner of Seattle SuperSonics and Starbucks Chief Executive Officer Howard Schultz gave an encouraging message to 2,100 Starbucks district managers in Seattle.
Starbucks CEO talked about the past achievements as well as what lies ahead of the brand at a global leadership event held in the company's home city of Seattle to thousands of Starbucks district managers from all around the world.
Schultz stressed the importance of passion in leadership and understands the sentiment of the mangers of the challenges they face in day-to-day work lives.
Schultz went on Twitter and posted several inspirational quotes.
"Everything we do matters. And it matters more today than it did in 1972. There is no room for mediocrity."
Another one read: "We believe it is a privilege to be a partner at Starbucks. And with it comes responsibility," the CEO stressed.
Finally, Schultz summed up with an encouraging remark embodying the Starbucks culture:
"To inspire and nurture the human spirit-one person, one cup and one neighbourhood at a time."
Each Starbucks district manager, who spent 10 years in the company including 5 years as a district leader, oversees 10-12 company-owned stores or 18 to 20 Starbucks-licensed stores.
"This is amazing. We're in the center of where it all began for Starbucks," stated Jen Clayton from Ontario, Canada in an interview with Starbucks very own news profile..
"This is inspirational and invigorating," Clayton added.
"This event gives us such a unique and personal view of Starbucks leaders. It's surreal to be standing in the first Starbucks a few feet away from Howard Schultz. This is a special experience, stated Pete Liobner from Little Rock Arkansas.
The event was held at Seattle's historic Pike Place Market while the meetings were held at several locations like Bell Harbor Conference Center and Washington State Convention Center.
Meanwhile, Starbucks is reportedly expecting to surpass the 10 percent revenue growth and hopefully add 1,600 stores across the globe next fiscal year.
