Blake Lively's former Gossip Girl co-star and on-screen mom, Kelly Rutherford, tells the public that she's happy for Lively and that she is definitely going to be a great mother.

At an AFLAC yoga event in New York City last Thursday, October 9, the Kentucky-born actress said, "She was always so sweet to my kids on the [Gossip Girl] set. I was a new mom when we were on Gossip Girl together, and she was always so loving towards my kids so I think she'll be such a great mom," the actress added of Lively, who played her daughter Serena van der Woodsen on the hit CW show.
Kelly Rutherford is known for her roles in television as Stephanie "Sam" Whitmore on the NBC daytime soap opera Generations from 1989 to 1991, as Megan Lewis on the Fox primetime soap opera Melrose Place from 1996 to 1999 and as socialite Lily Van der Woodsen on the CW series Gossip Girl which aired from 2007 to 2012.
Rutherford continued her praise for her 27-year-old on-screen daughter, "She's just beautiful. And she has an amazing family, so I think she understands the beauty of family, and the balance of it [all]."
Blake Lively had first announced her pregnancy last October 6 through her fashion website. The ecstatic future mom had posted numerous pictures of pregnant women, celebrating in particular "that special moment at the creation of family". The post ended with a photo of Lively and her belly, which was taken by her brother Eric.
Months ago, Lively has told Marie Claire that "I gotta get started," she added, "If I could spit out a litter of kids, I would."
Lively first met Ryan Reynolds on the set of Green Lantern in 2010. The year after, Reynolds and Lively started dating and got married in September 2012 at Boone Hall in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
