Following Legendary Pictures' confirmation that "Crimson Peak" actor Tom Hiddleston will in its "Kong: Skull Island" movie, a prequel to "King Kong," fans immediately went crazy.
While the 34-year-old highly acclaimed British actor remained silent about his participation in the upcoming movie, he is said to be actively gearing up already.
The "Crimson Peak" actor previously discussed his involvement in "Kong: Skull Island," while maintaining to keep details shrouded in secrecy.
"Well really it was [director] Jordan Vogt-Roberts has such an extraordinary vision," he said when asked what made him decide to accept the project in an interview with Red Carpet News TV.
"His story which I know he hasn't revealed to anyone yet is 'King Kong' you've never seen before, and it's very ambitious and epic and fresh and new in his vision and design and the characters are amazing. The chance to work with legendary again, who made 'Crimson Peak,' and I love what they did with 'Godzilla,' there are number of things, but it's more of working with Jordan particularly, his idea is amazing and the story and the script and the studio so yeah, it's a very easy yes."
The prequel to "King Kong" is slated for a March 10, 2017 release and there have been news that Legendary Pictures is preparing for something big that will equal a "Marvel-like Universe" for its Kaijus.
The plot synopsis to "Kong: Skull Island" movie has also been revealed, read below:

Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) and written by John Gatins (Flight) and Max Borenstein (Godzilla), "Kong: Skull Island" will fully immerse audiences in the mysterious and dangerous home of the king of the apes as a team of explorers ventures deep inside the treacherous, primordial island. Legendary's story honors the foundations of existing King Kong lore, but places it in an entirely new, distinct timeline.
Thomas Tull (Godzilla, The Dark Knight, Pacific Rim) and Jon Jashni (Godzilla, Warcraft) will produce and Alex Garcia (Godzilla) will executive produce. The film will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D by Universal Pictures."
Meanwhile, actor J.K. Simmons, who is reportedly included in the line up revealed the movie's time line. While the movie is a prequel to the creature who died in the 30s, the actor said that the time line for "Kong: Skull Island" will instead take place in the 1970s in Detroit.
"When it first came to my attention, 'There's interest in you for a new King Kong,' I thought, 'Okay, why?" He said according to Movie Pilot.
"I met with Jordan Vogt-Roberts who's going to be directing it, and John Gatins who's gonna be writing, and Tom [Hiddleston]-Jordan was just so passionate and so smart and there's such an interesting new take on it, and it's set in Detroit in 1971 which is where I grew up, and we're gonna shoot in Detroit during baseball season and I'll be able to go to Tigers games, so there's a lot to like about this movie."
