'Captain America 3: Civil War' Will Include Spider-Man In The Cast! Marvel Writer Brian Michael Bendis Tried To Retract His Statement

Marvel is reportedly determined to surpass the huge success of "Captain Ameria: The Winter Soldier" with the upcoming "Captain America 3: Civil War."

And while it already has a star studded line up with Robert Downey Jr. appearing in the sequel as Iron Man, a recent statement from Marvel's lead writer Brian Michael Bendis may have been the key for the movie's future.

"While speaking at his spotlight panel during Special Edition: NYC, longtime Marvel writer Brian Michael Bendis let slip that Spider-Man will be appearing in "Captain America: Civil War," adding an "allegedly" after the fact," Comic Book Resources noted.

The controversial statement happened when Bendis discussed Marvel's plans in bringing Spider-Man in the "Avengers" movie way back in 2005.

"The same thing happened when they heard Spider-Man is going to be in ['Captain America: Civil War'] the movie," Bendis said. However, panel host Ryan Penagos shoow his head after hearing Bendis statement, which made the writer retract.

"Allegedly," Bendis added. "Or he's going to be in 'Batman v Superman.'"

Prior to Bendis' statement, Spider-Man was already widely speculated to join "Captain America 3: Civil War," as his big debut for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The speculations started right after Marvel Studios announced a joint agreement with Sony Pictures.

And while Spider-Man's appearance in the upcoming "Captain America 3: Civil War" has yet to be confirmed, a new solo "Spider-Man" movie is confirmed to be in the works for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures.

Apparently, Asa Butterfield has been shortlisted for the role to portray the younger Peter Parker, who's supposed to be attending high school still. The film is reportedly slated for July 28, 2017 release.

Brian Michael Bendis o the other hand has tried to retract his statement again via Twitter saying, "I said the same readers who were upset about spidey in avengers weren't by the time the spidey civil war rumors popped up."

In other "Captain America 3: Civil War" news, there are reports claiming that Samuel L. Jackson will no longer be included in the lineup.

According to Christian Today, "Fans won't be seeing the eye-patched hero Nick Fury in action, popping in and out in the film."

The report was reportedly confirmed by the actor himself.

"I was surprised I wasn't in Civil War, because the Russo Brothers told me I was. I don't know what's going on," Jackson told IGN.

And while he's not sure why his character was not included in the upcoming "Captain America 3: Civil War," Jackson tried to figure out the reason why.

"I can't figure that out, but I'm not [in it]," Jackson initially told Collider. He then went on to say, "I guess I'm still out there, trying to figure out what happened to S.H.I.E.L.D. and who these other people are."

"Captain America 3: Civil War" will be released on May 6, 2016.
