The official suits of the U.S. Olympic team, which will be worn at the opening games' ceremony on July 27 in London, were displayed on NBC's "Today" on Tuesday.
The suits, designed by Ralph Lauren, will of course be tailored in patriotic red, white, and blue, as part of Lauren's Team USA collection, which is also available for purchase through the designer's official website. Lauren was chosen as the official outfitter of the U.S. Olympic and Paraolympic Teams, said NBC, for both the opening and closing ceremonies in London. Lauren also made casual apparel for team members to wear around London and the Olympic village in the British capital city, host of the 2012 summer games.

"It's really exciting to be in this outfit right now and know we'll be wearing it in the opening ceremonies," fencer Tim Morehouse, who won silver in Beijing, said on Today. "It's really cool."
Morehouse wore a white cotton sport shirt with a red and navy necktie under a tailored double-breasted blazer with peak lapels, noted NBC. The men's blazers are paired with simple cream-colored flat-front trousers.
Along with Morehouse, who showed off the men's suits for the opening ceremony, U.S. soccer player and Olympian Heather Mitts wore the women's outfits, which will feature a skirt for all athletes.
David Lauren, Ralph Lauren's Executive Vice President, told NBC and "Today" that the outfits were ""very inspired by the 1948 Games, which is the last time that American competed in England," he said of the "updated take on old-world elegance."
In addition to the suits worn by the U.S. team for the Lauren Team USA collection, casual attire like hoodies, tank tops, and accessories like beach towels, duffel bags, and sunglasses will be available for the general public.
Ralph Lauren released a preview of the outfits, worn by Olympians Ryan Lochte, Bryan Clay, Giuseppe Lanzone and Mitts for promotion of the new line.
