‘The Originals’ Season 2 Recap: Will Klaus Finally Face His Father? Is A Romance – Or 2 – Starting To Blossom?

| By

The feud between vampires and werewolves has been going on for hundreds of years in New Orleans, but will they stay conflicted when innocent children's lives are at stake? Read this week's 'The Originals' season 2 recap to find out!

With her plan to cleanse and unite the Mikaelson family in the most horrid way possible, Esther sends the wolves under her command to threaten Marcel into leaving New Orleans for good. Aiden, the new pack leader, faces Marcel but when Finn orders him to force unturned children into werewolves for a bigger army, he changes his mind. The group just happens to have his little brother in it.

To prepare for the werewolf attack, Elijah begins to teach Gia how to fight. With the intensity and intimacy of the lesson, sparks seem to fly between the teacher and his pupil. They get interrupted by Hayley who has brought Aiden with her. He asks for help to rescue his brother.

They agree to help him and proceed with the plan to save them that night. Elijah and Oliver stand as bait for the werewolves who attack, not for the kids, but for Elijah.

Although they manage to fend off the wolves, Finn and Esther trap Elijah. She wants to purify his children of their vampirism and she plans to start with her second son.

Meanwhile, Cammie invites Klaus to once again bear his soul to her instead of going off to find Divina and Michael.

"There is no real happiness in revenge," she tells him as they dance to a slow song. For a second, she thinks Klaus would listen to her but the he leaves Cammie behind to go find his father alone.

Moving forward in this 'The Originals' season 2 recap, Divina finally lets Khol know where she is, in lieu of an injury she received while training with Michael. As she lowers her guard, she gives Khol an opening to free Michael from the binding spell.

What exactly is Khol planning to do? Will he form an alliance with his father? Whose side is he really on? Did he really release Micheal from the binding spell or did he just transfer the power to himself?

When Khol finally releases Michael from Divina's hold, he goes to fight Klaus. This must be the late night "arse-kicking" that Joseph Morgan and Sebastian Roche were talking about on Twitter some months ago.

Despite his eagerness to kill his father, Klaus actually decided to listen to Cammie. Instead of ending his father's life with the white oak stake, he opts to just stab him with Papa Tunde's knife instead. If it's any consolation, Michael would still be a kept in perpetual pain thanks to the voodoo weapon. Towards the end, however, Daddy Original wakes up to pull the knife out - right as Klaus drives off with him in the trunk of his car.

On a side note, Josh finally meets the guy he's been chatting with. When they decide to meet, the guy turns out to be Aiden. Is this the start of a werewolf-vampire romance once again?

Look forward to more 'The Originals' season 2 recaps here!
